Pluspunten: This crew started working in my house on April 10th, 2017, with a regular contract. They had been recommend to us by a friend who had done simply the tiling of the kitchen. They claimed they could finish the house in one month. After one month and a half, everything was unfinished and, since I had already planned to move (May 26th) from the house where I was paying the rent, I had to stay for a week sleeping in a hotel. After another week, I decided to sleep in the new house alone, without my family, since the interior was unlivable for a decent family. Eventually I could look closely at the disaster. The bathroom was unfinished, tiles broken everywhere, bent pannels, tiles disconnected, no flat floor, spotlights not finished in the living room, bidet without the siphon (despite the fact I had bought it personally!!) plaster unfinished in the whole house, poor paiting: they had even connected the toilet to the hot water! when I flushed the toilet, the heater switched on, and they had already built the wall behind the wc without performing a check! I asked for a ventilation shaft. They simply put a fan with the air recirculating in the house.
Some sanitairs were damaged, a total disaster. I fired the owner of the company with a formal mail and I informed my lawyer.
I have also discovered that it seems he did not pay the crew for the plastering: two men came from nowhere and asked for money, without invitation, at my doorstep half an hour ago. They were the guys who had put the plaster, likely subcontractors of this company. They claimed that the owner of the firm had not paid them, and they were trying to get the money from me directly! I was very upset. I do not yet advertise the name of the firm of these plaster guys, since I think they have been victims like me of the same situation. In any case, I have all their details, just in case.
Now I have to do the bathroom and the toilet again: me and my wife are finalizing the plastering, the painting, the lights, the silicone on the floors, the electricity. They left the house dirty, it took us dozens of hours to clean the floors from paint spots and we had to rent another container to store all the rubbish they had left in the house, including a used beverage can stuck in between the walls of the window of the bathroom...... Also the staircases were unsafe: they had not put back all the nuts to secure the steps to the ladder. The steps were "dancing" and my kid got scared. I had to fix this too.
By the way, I had paid 90% for a job that was barely 60% of the house, and full of damages everywhere. I fired the owner of the company, Mike, on the 4th of June 2017. There were open electrical sockets, and 120V between the fridge, the dishwasher and the sink. I got a shock when using the dishwasher. Now I have to call an electrician the check the whole house again!
I took videos and pictures of everything. And those people expected us to live in this house while they finalised the toilet! The even left a drain pipe open in the basement!
Things could not go worse than this. Maybe these people can put some laminate and paint (things I can do myself with better results), no more than that. By the way, they were continuously asking for extra money, cash, for generic "materials". I kept record of all whatsupps. They used to arrive at 9 in the morning and the first month they left around three in the afternoon, when we were lucky.
I have never had to deal with such unprofessional people.
