Delissa Construction

Verbeterpunten: I hired Delissa Construction for a simple renovation: interior painting, staircase sanding and painting and ceiling plasterings. The contractor (Cosmin) was initially responsive. We agreed on a clear scope and a 10-working-day timeline. I paid a €3,000 deposit (in two tranches of €1,500) and later €900 for materials.
What was promised:
- 10 working days of work
- Transparent communication
- Proof of material purchases
- Invoices for all payments
What happened instead:
- Only 2 working days of activity occurred
- No materials paid for arrived at my home (after weeks)
- No invoice or breakdown of costs was issued
- I received excuse after excuse, then silence
- Blocked on WhatsApp with contractor disappearing with downpayment
Despite my efforts to resolve things:
- I followed up repeatedly via WhatsApp and email
- I offered to settle fairly — paying for work done, returning unused funds
- I formally terminated the agreement in writing
No refund. No accountability. €3,900 gone.
Timeline (all documented):
- June 4: Initial contact
- June 6: Agreement reached + €3,000 deposit paid
- June 12: €900 transferred for materials
- June 9–20: Only two actual working days took place
- June 24: Formal termination notice sent
I’m left with an unfinished job, no receipts, no proof of material use, and significant financial loss. What should have been a small, professional project turned into a frustrating, expensive, and unresolved experience, which is like going to escalate and proceed to legal resolution (unless they do the right thing).
